Crockpot Dr Pepper Short Ribs

This is a new recipe for me. I haven’t tried crockpot Dr Pepper short ribs before. I have had a slab of ribs with Coca Cola baked in the oven. With this recipe you can use any kind of ribs...it’ll be all good man. Serves 4 Total Time: 7 hours 30 minutes on low or 4 hours 30 minutes on high.

Ingredients:

1.5 - 2 lb beef or pork ribs
1 12oz can + 1/2 cup Dr Pepper, divided (need 2 cans)
1/2 cup  brown sugar
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup barbecue sauce

Directions:

Remove ribs from packaging and place on a clean plate. Combine brown sugar, garlic powder, and pepper in a bowl. Pat mixture all over each rib and place in the crock pot. Pour 1 can of Dr Pepper over the ribs. Set the crock pot to low heat and cook 7 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover a cookie sheet with foil then place a wire rack over the top. Combine 1 cup BBQ sauce with 1/2 cup Dr. Pepper soda. Carefully remove the ribs from the crockpot, placing on rack. Brush tops with sauce. Bake for 15 minutes, flip and brush other side. Bake 15 minutes more. Serve immediately with any remaining sauce.
